Sophia Grojsman

Sophia Grojsman is a Belarus-born American perfumer who has made significant contributions to the fragrance industry.

• Born in Belarus (which was a Soviet state at the time). She later received a Bachelor of Science degree in analytical chemistry in Poland (Gliwice). In 1965, she immigrated to the United States and began working at International Flavors and Fragrances (IFF) as a lab technician.

• Her mentors included Josephine Catapano and Ernest Shiftan, two legendary American perfumers. Sophia's creative energy and passion flourished as she went on to create some of the world's most beloved

• She is currently a Vice President at IFF, a leading perfume and scent company. Over the years, she has created several best-selling fragrances, including iconic ones like:

  • Calvin Klein Eternity

  • Estée Lauder Beautiful

  • Lancôme Trésor

  • Bvlgari Bvlgari Pour Femme

  • Christian Lacroix Christian Lacroix

  • Yves Saint Laurent Paris

• She received numerous accolades for her lifetime contributions to perfumery. Notably, she received the Cosmetic Executive Women’s Achiever Award in 1994, the Living Legend Award from the American Society of Perfumers in 1996, and the Perfumer of the Year, Lifetime Achievement Award by the Fragrance Foundation in 2016.
